20220422 Barcelona: Did not sleep much on the plane. Tossed and turned a bit. Breakfast was only fair. We landed in Barcelona about 10:00, which was late given how late we left Atlanta. Huge, long line for passport control. Crept along like being at Disney World. Then to the Health booth to scan our QR codes on the forms we filled out days ago. Got the luggage and found our driver who took us to Hotel Majestic. We are in room 846. Very nice hotel. Even saw some of the passengers from our flight who were going on a cruise, not ours, checking in.
After checking in, we went out onto the street just to take pix of people passing by. Lots and lots of people. Fun to get to do this again. This is a busy area and chock full of very high-end stores. At 1:30 we got into a taxi for the ride uphill to Gaudi’s Parc Guell.Good thing we had pre-bought tix since it was sold out. It’s a wild and wonderful place and we entered from the bottom while I had entered from the top back in 2017. I saw lots of areas I had not seen then. Crowded and super to be there. Impossible to describe the park and all that is in it in words.
After over an hour, we were exhausted and headed for the exit. Nice stop for gelato and then taxi back to hotel. Put stuff in the room and went out looking for an ATM. So far, I do not seem to be able to withdraw at one time the amount I want from the bank we tried, but did get some euros. Back to the room to download images. Then downstairs for a 7:30 supper in Solc, the hotel’s lovely restaurant. Had elegant meal. Even stayed awake.
Finished keywording from today and entering this trip note. It’s a bit after 10 and we are totally played out. New stuff tomorrow!
