20180609 Tel Aviv: Lazy day. Ate breakfast about 8:30. All went out on the beach afterwards and Anna, Andy, and Tracy went in the water, Marian waded, I took pictures. Shabbat brings lots of families and other folks to the beach, so it was crowded but not terribly so. Spent an hour or so there before returning to the hotel so that the Spellers could move their luggage to our room and check out. Andy had asked for late checkout at 1:00, but when we got back a bit after Noon, his key was dead since they had checked them out. So, Andy got another key and all the luggage was moved.

Andy went to the pool while the rest of us walked over to Dizengoff. On the way, we ate at a sushi restaurant. And we got an Aroma iced coffee for us and ice cream for Anna after. Shops all closed given it’s Shabbat. So walked back to hotel. On the way back, across the street from the Dan I spotted a building that had to be the same hotel (now under a different name) we stayed in here in 1962. Comparing images when we got to the room showed it really was. If we had stayed where originally booked at Dan Panorama or taken another street back to the Dan, I never would have seen it.

Most of the rest of the afternoon was spent with naps on the bed, on the couch. Spellers will be picked up by Yael at 9:00 PM for their midnight flight to JFK. Marian and I are going to dinner with Leah Croghan and leaving earlier.

Around 6:30, Tracy, Anna, Marian, and I went downstairs and met Leah. Then she took the two of us to Brasserie where her husband, Tomar, had already arrived. Lovely long dinner and conversation followed by ice cream nearby and a ride back to our hotel. Was a treat being with them.

And, most importantly, what a blessing it's been to share all this with Anna, Tracy, and Andy.
